Abortion is Freedom is Black Feminist Future’s (BFF) response to the outrageous attacks on reproductive freedom in the United States and Georgia. At the end of the day, freedom is being in control of our own bodies. Abortion bans are meant to control us, period. We need these anti-abortion politicians to mind their business and stay out of our bodies.
Abortion is Freedom is a narrative power-building and culture shift campaign that declares the attacks on our reproductive freedoms are about power and force, not abortion. We were forced to this land, forced to take care of their children and have more babies so they have more labor. They’re not about to make us do anything else.
Black feminisms provides a justice-focused roadmap to solutions and conditions where abortion, and all reproductive decisions, are inherently ours, collectively supported, and adequately resourced. Even if you might not need an abortion…your folks might—and don’t you want them to be able to do it with dignity?? Black liberation means taking care of our own because no one else will. Abortion is community care. And here’s what you need to know about in Georgia.

It’s our job to point people in our community toward safe abortion options. We are pro abortion, pro queer and trans, pro black liberation, and pro feminisms! ABORTION IN THE U.S.
In June 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, leaving state governments in power of the legal right abortion. This decision has made abortions illegal in many states like Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Dakota , and Texas. Black women, girls, and gender expansive people are continually on the front end of government attacks, but we’ve got each other’s backs!
